Variable Stars Photometry

Organisations such as the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO) have databases that stretch back more than a century. ​

 

Take part in requests from researchers for variable stars photometry, or contribute to classical novae or supernovae light curves.

 

There are also at times monitoring of variables in support of Target of Opportunity (ToO) observations with the Hubble Space Telescope. ​

Data Contributions

Spectroscopy compels us to find out more about the nature of stars and is a great learning journey.

Spectroscopy need not be the domain of professionals! Amateurs can contribute in various ways. See links below.
