Dark Site Observation
Lijiang, Yunnan, China
Blueprint:
Available dates will be published in advance.
Oct - May are ideal. For climate of Gaomeigu, Lijiang, please see reference below.
We will not plan trips from first to third quarter moon phases. Electronically-assisted astronomy with narrowband filters will be conducted instead. Please see our 'Live' telecast times.
Travel time is about 45 mins one way. We expect to spend 2-3 hours observing. We also hope to include a visit to the GMG 2.4m telescope (pictured) in the afternoon.
The site is situated at about 10,000' and precautions will need to be taken against high-altitude sickness. These will be published in due time.
